Horses and Therapy
As prey animals horses are exceptionally sensitive to their environment. As herd animals they are especially attuned to relationships. These qualities are superpowers in therapy as they attune to clients in away other humans don't. Horse tend to respond to our nervous systems even if we are not aware of what's happening ourselves. Horses use non-verbal communication to respond and react to clients and the environment in the moment, increasing our awareness of our internal and external experiences. Why does that matter? The first step to growth and stronger relationships is awareness of what's actually happening.
